That really is such a simple fix. Anytime you feel compelled to say sorry, thank you is always the better approach. I got classic feedback to stop saying "um" so much. It's been really hard to implement because it's such a part of my vocab but I do think it's made me a much stronger interviewer and presenter.

That’s my next one to tackle. I say “um” and “like” way too often - it’s so hard to stop!
Not feedback per say but just a quote I heard from someone recently was “we are all the bad guy in someone’s story”. What I like about this quote is that if you’re a people pleaser, it can be hard to say no or set boundaries. Managers may fear delivering bad news.
People pleasers often go to great lengths to avoid conflict and make others happy, sometimes at the expense of their own well-being. This quote reminds you that no matter how kind, thoughtful, or self-sacrificing you are, someone will still misunderstand you, be hurt by you, or not like you.
That’s not always your fault — and it’s not always something you can fix.

I love that so much and will absolutely be stealing that. Thank you for sharing!
