“Experienced Hire” with 7 years of advisory technology consulting. Possibly looking to switch firms. Have no idea if I’m in the range, over or under market level on comp. What’s a good going rate for base plus bonus range? Currently 150k base with about 25 in bonus, but the bonus has accelerators which puts me closer to 180/190 in total comp.

Aiming to be a direct flight away from her, I have started looking into work opportunities in Australia. Can any expat here share their experience with getting a job as a foreigner? Are there any recruitment firms that specialize in working with expat talent? What was the biggest culture shock moving to Australia?

I am a 2nd year that works in individual tax but was hoping to leave public. Would I be able to make a jump to industry as a senior tax analyst? Or would I be wasting my time since I don't have any corporate experience

Has anyone successfully moved their practice to a new state? I would like to get out of Texas but criminal defense is so jurisdiction specific, even at the federal level, that I’m worried I would have a hard time building up a practice with no connections.

My observation is that it is hard for consulting partners to land the quality public or private board roles everyone naturally targets. Despite there being a significant amount of exceptional talent that could be deployed, there is a big bias against consultants. Everyone wants “operators,” but I feel every board could also benefit from one current or former consulting partner. But sadly, that’s not the way the external world looks at things...

FAANG (or MANGA) companies seem to be the holy grail for lots of people exiting BIG4 or even banking/consulting types looking for finance analyst type roles in industry.

Anecdotally, the pay & culture seems good at those companies, but are there significant cons to "finance analyst" type roles in those orgs which would deter you from working from them? (I.e work hours, progression etc?)
