Hi guys, Now VMware is offering me a 35% percent hike of what I am earning at DellEmc. I just completed one year at DellEmc. Total 2.7YOE But I don't like to go out of Dell, due to some personal commitments I am planning to switch.
Is it a good time to switch?
Can I talk with my manager ?
Are they able to hike the salary of what VMware is offering? Please suggest me.

I'm thinking 50-55k. Seniors are making 65-90k. Execs 90-140. Based on just a few convos with colleagues.
Total experience or 2 years with full producer title?
3 months intern, 1.5 years associate producer, 3 months mid level producer
Have you done any solo jobs?
Yes, a few. For smaller budgets though.
My salary climb came from jumping from agency to agency. This is over the span of four years. I’m in the Midwest.
- associate producer $50K
- mid level $65K - second agency (content)
- mid level $80K - third agency (content)
- mid level $94K - fourth agency (broadcast)
My advice when it comes to salary negotiations is to take advantage of the fact that we are in a pandemic and everything is remote. It’s leveling the playing field. The Senior producers are asking the same questions as the associate producers. We’re all trying to navigate the new normal. So take that into consideration when it comes to salary negotiations.
(PS- my mentor told me this early in my career- agencies lie. They have the money to pay you what you’re worth. Don’t be shy).
