That is dependent on the job. I can’t tell you how many times I hear about people doing the math, and what they make hourly is abysmal because of how much they have to work.
I'd prefer a salaried position because that would generally come with better benefits. Plus, there's some stability to it, I'll know what I'll be doing and what I'll be paid. Depending on the job and company, hourly workers can have their hours cut, and I know from jobs I had years ago how chaotic that can be.
Depends…the difference between exempt and non-exempt in my company is the percentage of annual bonuses. Salaried employees make approximately 3x more in bonuses than hourly employees. Salaried employees bonuses range from14.5% to 48% of our salary. Salary employees are typically higher pay grades and make more annually as well.
