What’s it cost to work with an attorney when leaving a firm?

Typically $2,500 retainer and most attorneys are $400-$500 per hr. Depending on receiving firm some reimburse. My needs were approx 3 hrs billed. Well worth having representation for both advice and in the event you need it.

Depends on if you’re being sued by your last firm. Or trying to get around a cease and desist

I’m from Louisiana and left EJ almost two years ago. Didn’t consult an attorney, but got some guidance from others advisors that left. Work with my transition team to develop my scripts ( very important) to ensure I complied with EJ’s non-solicit contract .

I spent like $900 in Louisiana and it was more than worth the peace of mind

Wondering if it’s just my v20 firm but it is so annoying when you have to work for incompetent partners that do not have the capability or stamina to do the work, but have one client or bring in one large matter every couple years. I don’t know how the client likes them since they don’t do any of the legal work.

I’ve been in the industry for 23+ years, 16+ of those spent as a Producing Branch Manager. I hold S7, S63, S66, S24 and I’ve completed the education for the CFP (need to pass the exam). I excel in relationship building and providing exceptional service. I’ve only been on the full-service side for the past 2 years and my book of managed money is about $10M, with another $10M+ being self-directed by clients. I’d love to find an RIA job, what type of role would be suggested?
