I.e. some soulful understanding of the hiring firm’s place in the universe, reasoning of what their needs are to succeed and put them in a position of greatness etc, and why you are uniquely qualified?

Additionally, I take on little projects to helps friends/family. I want to pivot into Project Management, but I’m not sure how to leverage the skills I have. M/SM and above, why do you label a meeting as “touch point” or ask if you can have a “quick chat” when it’s something serious? Millennials like us always assume we’re about to get fired - I actually have been laid off in a meeting with that title. But at my new job, my boss asked for a “quick chat” to literally ask me to change the title of a meeting and then chat about christmas. Now that I’m in management, I want to understand it better.
