Huron. Healthcare practice had a very bumpy 2016/2017, but is doing very, very well now.
From a client perspective: Wide breath of service offerings that integrate very well together to differentiate in market. Breadth of services offerings also includes frequent collaboration with other practices such as Innosight (C-suite healthcare growth & innovation strategy), enterprise solutions & analytics, M&A (dedicated and rapidly growing HC investment banking team), higher ed (useful for academic medical center clients), and rock solid life sciences strategy team. All of this together differentiates Huron well against peers.
From employee perspective: great culture (midwestern “niceness” permeates), comp and benefits are competitive with market (though obv not MBB level), and leadership does it’s best to keep people happy. It’s a happy company.
I’m now in B4 - 100% regret leaving. Grass is indeed not greener on the other side.

Much of “who is best” depends on what services are defined. ECG topped the 2018 KLAS list for Healthcare Management Consulting. You won’t see us in some project types though (like systems implementation) where other firms have a strong presence. The broader KLAS report does a fairly good job of breaking those out.

Kpmg's footprint in HC has grown and i know they have a lot of good talent. On the smaller side Evolent has been getting a lot of traction as well.
