It’s especially daunting when every posting gets 1000+ applicants 😳
Exactly
Are you getting to the interview stage and not getting call back? If that's the case just don't be an ass and don't think you're better than them. My husband is an Exec CD and he was telling me a couple of nights ago that he can't talk to another creative that talks about the 89347 awards he won, and how much great work they've done. (when most of the time, they might have just write the case study or give a hand on the project when someone is ooo...)
The overall thing that keeps coming back is: I'll hire people who are nice with other people. At the end of the day, you usually only interview with people from the creative team, but we want to make sure that you will be a good fit with the rest of the agency.
For the rest, be creative. I've seen people actually going back to mailing their resume or showing up. It can or can not be well received, but if it comes from a good place, I don't see why people whoul'tn see that you're juste trying
Right there with you. Started tapping into my network more but that doesn’t seem to be moving the needle either.
Through your network.
You will likely need a referral to get an interview these days. If you don’t know people at the companies you intend to apply to, then you need to find people who can introduce you to people at those companies and get them to put in a good word for you.
