I got an offer from a competitor has really interesting project but the overall comp is less than $10k than my current role. The manager is nice but they can’t up the comp much further.

I applied for a counsel position with a large local university almost two months ago. The application period closed about two weeks ago, and a friend of a friend works as a counsel in the same role. I understand the complexities of the times and hiring constraints, but I’m wondering if I need to follow up/reach out through my friend or just keep waiting. Looking for insights from any seller at any of the hold co’s. I have an opportunity to join a new team at a hold co but I’m not sure if it will be a great move to make. I’m doing very well where I am, book of biz is thriving, but the allure of working at a larger company than my small company seems like a great resume builder. I’m not sure where I want to be in 5 years, but this seems like a good way to make myself more appealing. I’ll have to rebuild my book of biz, which means pay cut.

She also said if I really perform over and above in onsite interviews I may once again be considered for L6. Is this true? If so, what differently should I do?
