Not a coworker, but a client fired an employee because they didn’t like their walk. This was in the publishing industry.

like

I wanna know too about this walk.....

like

Throwing paperclips at a fellow employee....really it was creating a hostile work environment and just being to intellectually challenged to handle the work but the paperclip episode was the "straw that broke the camel's back" so to speak. That employee quit and then the other was fired

A paralegal sending narcotics to her friend/co-worker at another office location via inter company mail. It apparently went on for 6ish months. Still hard to believe they were that ballsy.

🤔

Once my prior boss fired a receptionist because he didn’t like the shoes she was wearing.

Did we work for the same guy? Lol

An Associate was caught hooking up with a Paralegal. What's weird is that they were fired. People hook up around here all of the time. Not sure what the real story is.

like

The paralegal or the associate must've been hooking up with a partner too and they got jealous.

Me. I was fired for doing my job the way I taught and I took my job seriously. I guess I did it to good and the assistant account manager was intimidated or threatened or both.

Not sure that is the "crazy" the poster was thinking about.

A worker was sleeping with her supervisor, and was getting all the good assignments. Another worker tried to stand up for his friend, the woman's husband, who the supervisor was apparently retaliating against. The stand-up guy tried to convince the supervisor not to retaliate against the husband, in a conversation involving a punch in the face.

Stand-up guy was dismissed immediately. After further investigation, the rest of the story came out, and supervisor was dismissed.

There was a legal secretary at a law firm I worked at who had a bit of a temper & attitude, The first incident happened when she had a meeting with our office administrator she yelled at her, off and on for about 5-10 minutes. The second incident happened a month or so later when she went again into a meeting with the OA, this time she was yelling & screaming which included FU’s that could be heard throughout our large office. That tirade lasted about 50 minutes. (My office was right next to the OA’s and I could hear every word.) It brought attorneys, other secretaries, and a lot of personnel out to see what was going on. After that she sat down at her desk for 30 minutes until her shift was over and left as if nothing happened. That was on a Thursday. Then on Friday at our weekly firm zoom meeting, our managing attorney talked about receiving 385 boxes, remarking it was like “a president’s hidden files.” (He didn’t say which one.) Well right before he adjourned the staff to talk only to the attorneys she unmuted herself and said (in front of everyone) to the managing attorney “(His name) you need to keep politics out of our weekly meetings. I don’t like it and I don’t appreciate it!”Then she left the zoom call and went to her smoke break!

I found out she was fired when I returned to work on Monday morning. The OA said, “ We just couldn’t take the screaming.”

Attorney was jerking off in his office when his secretary walked in. Technically, he resigned, but I think it counts.

I think I need to give up on finding a natural deodorant that actually works.

Second year associate here who recently switched from litigation to corporate law. I am absolutely swamped while simultaneously having no idea what I’m doing ever and I’m feeling so burnt out. The partners are pretty great and feedback is constructive which I’m grateful for, but I’m so desperate for a compliment I’ve been saving any scrap of positivity in a folder 😭 it’s December 22 and I haven’t done my Christmas shopping because I don’t feel capable of thinking about it. I am lead counsel on a case - we’re suing 3 businesses and my supervisor is a named incorporator of one of the businesses although he is not an officer. He is asking me to bring the file and meet with him about the progress of the case. I reminded him of the conflict and he stated that the conflict was resolved because he also has a claim against 1 of the companies that he recently filed separately. I don’t see how that resolved the conflict…and he’s fully pressuring me to meet. How to respond?
