What’s the going rate these days for an ECD level freelancer? This would be for a job that’s a few months long. They asked me for my hourly rate, but I would rather do weekly or monthly. Do companies even do that anymore? This is at a fairly large ad agency in NYC.

Do hourly. The hours add up and there’s probably overtime (1.5x the rate) for weeks over 40 hours.

like

Nobody does weekly or monthly anymore so that they can try to squeeze 2.5 billable hours of work out of you during a 12 hour work day. If you're truly ECD, it could be $250 hr. If you are are a former ECD now freelancing for the first time, it is $120 hr

helpful

Also, as a guide - Heard of rates anything between 150-250 for New York, CD level. Go in on the high end and let them barter you down.

Kinda curious as well. I always do a day rate but this last agency is insisting on hourly and expects 40 hour week. What if I do 10 hours /day?

Had the same recently and was super sceptcial, but hourly can work out well with overtime at 1.5x (which is standard in NY).

I’m assuming it’s more of a meet and greet with a mix of leadership related questions.

Hi everyone,

I just graduated from my bachelors and I have received an offer for 3k per month (incl bonus) from Accenture in tech consulting (level 11), which was my top choice. However, I am not very satisfied with the pay so I wanted to ask:
1. I might also get offers from PwC or Deloitte, are they likely to pay more?
2. Is that enough to live a comfortable life in Amsterdam Zuid?

Has anybody here Incorporated themselves? LLC? Do you find that people do not like to pay Freelancers this way? Or are they okay with it?

Quick PSA: one of the perks of going in-house, is that you’re no longer at an ad agency and all that that entails.

Just started a new in-house tech fl gig and it’s giving me whiplash! Somehow this dept has brought every person/toxic behavior from their old agency just to a new environment. Nowhere is perfect but good god. I honestly think companies/HR could learn a lot about their depts from freelancers.

Any advice on how to get clients to pay your invoice on time / what to do when they don't? I'm currently working with an agency who agreed to net 30 terms, but has been late with every invoice so far...It's probably a lost cause on this particular job, but Im wondering if there's anything I can do in the future to avoid this situation.
