Lmao you must work at PwC
Dang I was hoping for someone to say something under 6 months
I feel like 1 year is too short, atleast 2-4 years to get bored and leave. For me personally 4 years is the sweet spot, I know the company pretty well and get bored at that time
I’d say no minimum as long as you have another job lined up. When I first joined EY, my teammate (Staff 1) jumped ship after six months because she accepted a better offer in industry. I tried applying at that stage and had 0 success. If you feel you have a solid skill set, float your resume and see what happens. For me getting 100% rejection made me appreciate my job a lot more.
I’ve received approval from my old company on my boomerang. How should I break it to the current company? I’m an anti-conflict type of person. They also may be expecting this due to what I’ve gone through thus far.
1 year
18 months minimum IMHO
Depends why you’re moving and whether you can turn into compelling story
If you’re boomeranging back to your old firm, I wouldn’t worry about perception at all. That shows you were valued in your old role and communicates that you’re reputable.
Depends. Usually 2 years minimum. I’ve been doing 18 months past few jobs lately for various reasons. Latest was due to shift in focus for the practice and the overall vision of the company did not align with my values or vision.
Six months makes it look like to the interviewer that you couldn’t “hack it” despite how much you explain it “wasn’t a good fit” or “horrible culture” or “want to get off the road”. It’s not fair however that’s the world we live in
How so? Do you think exiting sooner is a better idea? I think my previous company was a much better fit for me and plan to go back there for a long time. I would probably eventually remove this current 6 month (or less) role from my resume.
No minimum. Live your life
Ask White House employees. I think the published record was less than a week.
