There is no number - there’s a complex set of circumstances that’s unique to the individual. There’s baseline financial security that you need to establish: material savings, strong equities portfolio, lowered burn rate (get rid of all consumer debts). And then, you physiologically need to get comfortable moving away from high status professions that you find “stupid.” After all that, go on to live your meaningful and fulfilling life.

I think those saying 10 or 15 liquid are never going to get to leave. Because if you have a number 5 years out - it’s only going to feel not enough then. I have struggled with this. You will leave when you have something more meaningful to do. Period!

I applied and ended up getting an interview for a Business Consulting Technology Risk Senior interview at EY. I have a call with the recruiter tomorrow to discuss opportunities within the service line. Can you please help if anyone has been through this process? What should I expect in the call tomorrow as well as the process? Is it going to be difficult for me to get the job? I really want it!

Thank you.
