I’ve got a single car garage. I have to finish cleaning it up today but I’ll post pics. I’ve got a bandsaw, drill press, table saw, miter saw, dust collector, jointer, planer, air compressor and more. The key is being adaptable.
Haha well that’d be great if you do! Good luck.
Mobile work stations or French cleat system is helpful for storage. Planning to install cleats on my woodworking side of the garage.
I have a two-car garage but I refuse to park my car outside overnight because we have a problem with break-ins and I'd rather not worry about it. Usually I back my car out and work with the door up, but I'm also a big gardener, so my woodworking is on one side and garden stuff is on the other. Gotta wedge my car in there too.
I made a simple rolling cart for my miter and get a lot of mileage from folding saw horses, but I plan to make a folding work station that I can raise or lower as needed.

I have a 3 car garage but mostly use my single oversized (12x24) for my workshop. Everything is mobile or collapsible. I’ve also added 12 outlets and French cleats. I do expand into the 2 car side when I am painting (temporary spray booth) or doing a large assembly. It works well but how I dream of a larger shop with dedicated workstations.
Thanks! Awesome shop!
Amazing for tool storage and organizing. If I can get all my stuff on the wall, I'll actually be able to replace my cheap tool chest with a workstation that's the same size and I could just have it on wheels.
Looks great

To more directly answer your question we’d need to know what type of woodworking you would like to do. Turning? Not much space at all. Cabinet making? Gotta have a good amount of space to handle those plywood sheets and assemble. And everything in between.
You can also get into hand tools and save yourself from machinery if space is a real premium. Do know there's a real learning curve though and power tools will be faster. Hand tools can give you precision and finish power tools can't touch though.
That said - I use a circular saw with an edge guide instead of a table saw, and use a No 7 hand plane instead of a jointer. I do own a power planer (13") though - it's way faster to dimension the wood once I've gotten a single side flat.
Like power tools, you can go down a rabbit hole of buying tons of hand tools. It never ends.
