I built these chairs at the start of lockdown. A matching side table will happen once things thaw out.
Built these babies for gardening, next is deck curtains
Picnic table seems awesome to have in the backyard!
This has been my evening (maybe 1hr a night) project for the last 2 weeks: Big-ass toy box for my kids. Trying to decide how I want to do the top/ what hinges.

I’m actually in the process of making a “real” workshop. I’m currently solving my storage issues by building a huge French cleat system on the non-shop side of my 3 car garage. Then will add outlets and dedicated dust collection to the single bay.
Great eye! I’ve got a decent amount of festool toys that I inherited from my uncle who was a woodworker and passed last year. Domino (coolest tool on the planet), palm sander, straight line sander, rotex sander, track saw, router, jig saw and a CT36 dust collector. The rest for my shop I’ve purchased on craigslist over the years.
The long bed jointer in that pic was actually totaled in a workshop fire. Found it, and a powermatic 15” planer, on craigslist for essentially scrap. They weren’t damaged by the fire, but rather completely rusted out when the firemen hosed down the shop. Had to completely tear down and rebuild both from scratch.
Great to see people on this app that like to build things.
I’m 30, definitely haven’t met many folks in our line of work who are into it.
Being in the tech side of things, working with my hands and building things helps me relax and clear my mind. I love seeing something I’ve built. With work being so... abstract, it’s nice to see the fruits of your labor produce something tangible.
Also, I absolutely agree with this being a positive bowl in the midst of all the chaos!
Current project is a table / stand for my miter saw. I don’t have the tools or skills to build furniture, mainly just outdoor / garden / utility stuff out of common boards and plywood. But it’s still fun!
That’s awesome, I saw the same plan and would love to do it, but don’t have space in my garage right now for the fold-down sides.
So for now I ditched those and am leaving the sides open. I will probably get a pair of those height-adjustable rollers to support long pieces, until I can reorganize the garage and add those fold-up extenders.
