What's the difference between a super and building manager? I've literally never seen my super before and only interact with the building manager.

Supers typically live in the building or within close proximity to the building and are usually your go to for issues. If you’re in a bigger building with lots of units though (and it sounds like it since you have 2 building managers and 2 handy men), they’re less of the maintenance guy and more of the manager of the workers you’re interacting with.

My building also has two handymen so not sure what super does

Super does stuff. Building manage pretends to do stuff but basically project manages.

In the consulting world, it’s the analyst and consultant vs the manager :)

My question is the opposite - I’ve never seen my building manager 😂 do they actually have a say in what happens in my apt, how fast I get maintenance, etc?

Hello, not sure if I should move this to the Referral Bowl or here is good.
I have multiple years of working in Sysadmin/Tier 2-3 roles. Still experience trouble getting another SysAdmin role since I lost mine. I live in a state with plenty of work if sec-cleared. I cant get one.

Anyone work somewhere that could use an exceptional sysadmin, and that understands people aren't their past mistakes. Stuck back on helpdesk & want back to sysadmin

I’ve been casually looking for a 2 BR to buy in Manhattan. Yes I have student debt and no generational wealth here. Just looking for some moderately priced (for NY) fixer-upper to invest time in. BUT, the maintenance fees associated with some of the units I’ve seen are mind boggling. $700k for the unit (okay), $6k/mo. for maintenance (HOW? WHY?!). My mind is blown by maintenance fees, esp when there are buildings with bare min amenities. Idgi. Any tips?
