Hi fishes, I have offer from Ibm and few more offers from product based organisations with increased compensation. I asked ibm to match ibm offer amount with product based company difference is x+5 but business team rejected to match or offer best they can give. Now ibm hr is asking for final decision. If i tell them i'm not joining then, are there any possibility they will revise the offer? Has anyone experience this before? Accenture Tata Consultancy Deloitte IBM Cognizant
How did we as a society go from "the internet means not having to pay for anything (limewire, pirated movie webites, etc)" to "I'm paying millions for digital artwork anyone can just screenshot/screenrecord"?
Graduated a web dev bootcamp back in 2018. Ended up taking a non coding job and was there for 2 years (contract expired). I now want to get back into coding after a long time off, but not sure where to start and how to go about getting a job in a market saturated with entry level devs. Any advice?

How much WLB flexibility is there with MBB? As a junior level employee, do you have the freedom to step away for a few hours in the day for an appointment? What if you need to take a random Tuesday off?
Anyone working Joint Staff? What’s it like?
An undergrad relative of mine just received an offer for 65k in Raleigh NC. Is that a good amount for a genZ without student loan debt to live comfortably off of?

I've been working on my Spanish for a few years. My speaking is Intermediate Low (ACTFL level) but I decided to push to the next level this summer.

What's the projection and outlook for state and local gov consulting? I'm at a small but somewhat well known firm in this space, but our leadership hasn't shared much on the outlook, given the economic slow down and layoffs
Thoughts on Customer Enablement roles?
Guy on my project has literally done nothing, and always has excuses. Granted, his excuses are family related so I can’t judge him too harshly but he’s done nothing for the 2-3 months, just joins calls and sometimes replies to chats with a funny comment. I’m doing my best not to be annoyed, and have offered to bring him into what I’m doing but he’s just so clueless about what we’re doing despite being on the project for a while. In these situations, do you usually try to help said person?

Has anyone made the switch from Risk Assurance to Financial Planner or knows anyone who has? Is this possible without going back to school?
What's your audit philosophy on retaining populations? One senior always keeps it and does a full popval/shows sample selection. My other one just keeps popval screenshot and verbiage of procedures
Thoughts on EY risk advisory?
Anyone in here ever verbally accept a job and regret it? Trying to figure out the best way to decline now. It’s only been 1 day and they haven’t initiated a background check or anything.
Is it possible to work part time (20/30hrs) at EY or another public firm? I am going back to school to get my masters and could definitely work part time, but not full. I know our group is desperate for people, but I wasn't sure if that was an option yet.

How many of you are working remote? I really don’t see how this industry, especially in IT risk could go back to the office. I had minimal time prior to covid at client sites. Want to get a feeling around how many people here still remote and will be remote at least for the presumable future.
Has anyone made the move from Enterprise Risk to Sales/tech sales? Not really feeling like the exit opportunities of enterprise risk are what I want to do long term & thinking about a career change!
Internal audit or technology risk at EY?
I have been at PwC for almost a year now but I am getting swamped with work and not sure how I like my team. My team is huge and I feel like they are inconsiderate of my time and make me feel stupid. I would say I am still learning everything because its been 10 months since I started working. Anyone leave after a year and where did you transfer to? I am thinking of switching firms because I do think big4 teaches you great skills, but my busy season being 6 months and another bc planning not ok.
Most of my staff are very weak when it comes to developing meaningful recommendations to address internal audit issues other than saying “control broken, fix it”. Does anyone have suggestions about good courses, certifications, or reference materials around business process optimization or developing meaningful recommendations?
Anyone know of available operational risk assurance/controls positions for experienced employees?
I’m currently the portfolio accounting&control manager at a private lender. I established our risk assessment and control practices in 2017 due to their being a dire need for it and our COO assigning it to me. It quickly became something I enjoy doing and would like to make a career jump to strictly Risk Mgmt. I’ve been applying to multiple roles but haven’t had any luck. 9YOE/5YOE in Mgmt. Thanks

I used to keep track. Our most common departure now is second year associates who don’t like their raise. Probably 20% I’d say
Not anymore. We re-org’d our groups and now there is a very clear IT Audit vs non IT audit. Prior to that, yeah, it was really bad with people who weren’t happy with the role
“Consulting” aka IT External audit.
