Lately been wondering if my meds are even working anymore… had to skip today’s dose (long story not worth telling) and, yeah, can now confirm my meds are working.

Sleep, caffeine, food, and drink all effect them.

For instance, Vitamin C/citric acid neutralize adderall and it’s ilk. So coffee yes, but energy drinks no

Consider changing doses or meds but also consider other factors that could be affecting you. I tried so many medications when I thought they stopped working until talked to a doctor about anxiety. With anxiety pills it made my add meds work like magic

What does every do for a healthy snack?
Weight loss is stagnating (23 M, 5’10” previously 210lbs 29.5% BF now 188ish lbs 21.5% BF) and I figure tuning up nutrition could be the extra kick I need.

I like RX bars, but thinking of switching to fruit with natural PB (I.e. only peanuts and oil) since guessing anything that isn’t processed will help give me that extra push to my goal (175 lbs 15% BF). Any ideas are appreciated!

I feel like my life has been stagnant for about 2 years. I have the same ‘meh’ day over and over again at work. Overall have every symptom of ‘burnout’. Outside of work I mainly lie around and watch tv. Only time I have a lot of energy is when I was on a beach vacation or when I drink a TON of coffee. I get big ideas about doing the things I enjoy outside of work but never do them. Dating life is nonexistent. I kinda think I’m depressed, but don’t want to go on meds. Any advice?

Even with the medicine, I sometimes I feel like I’m barely a functioning adult. My SO and I maybe want kids but I’m terrified of 1) do I have to stop medicine while pregnant and breast feeding, 2) could I even do my job without medicine, and 3) could I really take care of a baby?!? I’d love to hear other’s experiences or thoughts! Thanks!

I have been taking anti depressants on and off for the past 8-10 years. Was asked to start the meds again last month after I was going through another phase and I still can’t believe how much the meds help me, it’s literally night and day.

I have always wanted to go off of meds. Has anyone tried other treatments for depression/anxiety with success? I have been looking at CBD recently but not sure if it is anything more than another fad.

Today I was officially diagnosed with adult adhd. I can’t begin to explain how relieved I am.

It turns out things that I’ve considered personality defects are actually symptoms of this disorder. Interrupting people, saying inappropriate things, swirling on a topic for days: all issues I’ve battled with since childhood and finally have an answer.

Mental health is important. Talk to your doctor and do research. You never know what’s going on inside your brain.

Billable hour question: is anyone else just completely incapable of keeping up with your time? I’ve been an attorney for 3 years now and tried everything I can think of to figure this out but I just can’t do it. It’s the same thing at the end of every month - staying up late entering in an entire month of time. Luckily most clients I work for are flat fee/percentage based but I still feel like a failure for not being able to do this thing that seemingly every other lawyer can do. Any tips?

I forgot to take my medicine today. I realized it once I got into the office. I noticed my brain is extra sluggish and cloudy. So I checked my emergency at-work pills and I forgot to bring more. It would take over an hour to go home for meds and come back to work. I hate getting in these situations trying to figure out if I just stick it out at work, drive home and back to work, or call it a lost day and go home and back to sleep. It’s so frustrating that one change in routine can ruin the day.

Looking for actionable tips to improve efficiency. I’m a senior associate doing primarily employment litigation. I get great reviews on my work product, including my writing, but lately I’ve been getting feedback that I’m spending too long on tasks and partners are having to write off too much time (not good for partnership prospects). In particular, writing briefs, emails, and letters takes me forever, probably because it takes me a long time to form the right sentences. [Cont’d below]

I have been working with a therapist since January and discovered I have ADHD, which has explained so much for me. I am still learning about it and trying to accept it, but I am really hesitant to even begin thinking about taking meds for it. Maybe it’s denial and I need to get over that mindset of “I can fix this” or that there’s nothing “wrong” with me and that adhd it’s just a phase in my life, but I really am just not there yet.
