Political advertisements, from a professional perspective, are so lazy and have had a similar formula for as long as I can remember. But with that being said, some have gotten outlandish with claims they make about each other. It’s the grade school equivalent of hurling insults around imo.

You shouldn’t be able to lie in advertisements like that. It’s damn bad the amount of misinformation that is out there for something as important as an election.
I'm gonna be honest I don't even pay attention to political ads because I assume that everything in them is lies. But you're right it shouldn't be allowed because people really do believe every word of them. Some people will literally believe anything and shouldn't be fed this kind of stuff.
You shouldn't be able to, but I'm sure the people in charge of running them have figured out exactly what they're able to get away with without actually breaking the law. I hate political ads with a passion. I'm so ready for this election to be over and done with.
It used to be that TV stations would reject ads that were over the line, but these days it seems like anything goes. Because people don't learn a lot of civics, they don't understand how the government actually works, so you can pretty much tell them anything and hope they'll believe it. I honestly think most people just tune out the ads, but because they air in constant rotation some of the disinformation in them will eventually take hold.

I agree with everyone's statement.
I find all these ads misleading and very childish. At the same time, if a company were to lie or even an individual, they would be fined within a heartbeat.
I completely understand that they operate with another set of rules, but this is our of control.
I can't remember which nor how came about the information, but I believe in New Hampshire, they don't run attack ads nor do they criticize one another. It's a like a different country lol.
