Six months is usually the norm for me.
I don’t anymore. All it does is give me spam emails from people pretending to be recruiters. Better luck on indeed.
After you are 100% sure that it’s a fit. I recently started a new role and I’m already leaving because of bad leaders on my team. Luckily I hadn’t updated my profile.
Switching companies I give it a week or two after settling in and being introduced to the teams I'm working with.
Promotions within the same company I do so after telling close friends and family so they hear it from me directly and not just online.
For what its worth I feel like a lot of people at my agency update their jobs if promoted almost as soon as they hang up the phone with their boss informing them of their promotion.
I usually do it right after I’ve started, I have a lot of people work wise who contact me on my personal number and I think it’s important for them to see I’m no longer with a company
