If they are offering you better benefits I don't see why not try it. I think you have to risk to win
Yeah if they offer you something better just leave, that's what I always say. Company loyalty is hardly ever rewarded in my experience
Yes, people transfer companies all the time. It's fairly common especially when the employee stands to gain in some way from making the switch such as a better role, higher pay, more benefits etc... what's in it for you if you switch?
Can your boss get you an in there?
Never be loyal to a job because chances are they won't be loyal to you. The second you're disposable, you will be disposed of. If your boss made the move and it's good for her, you could always try as well!
It's definitely a big decision to make - switching companies after seven years! I've never done it myself, but it's something I'm considering as well. My company isn't what it used to be.
I changed jobs like this a couple years back and let me tell you: best decision ever.
What was the motivator for her to leave? Did something happen at your current job, or did she just find better opportunities elsewhere?
Weigh your pros and cons. Your pay could be better, you could get more vacation or less work. Or it could be the other way around. You won't really know unless you try.
