When networking or following up after submitting an application, have you found it more effective to reach out directly to the hiring manager or members of the team you’re applying to—rather than trying to track down the aligned recruiter for the req?

I’ve had situations where my application was rejected or ignored by the recruiter, but when I reached out directly to the hiring manager, they reviewed my background and moved me forward to interviews. Curious if others have experienced this too?

Looking to get into SaaS sales but my experience is in construction and fine furniture (I was a sales manager and was able to lead my team of 4 people to consistently hit 450k monthly targets). I did that for almost 2 years before making the switch. I miss sales, though. Does anyone have any connections to companies looking?
