International tax manager with 7 years experience all at KPMG. Thinking about switching to industry to see it from a new perspective and do similar work from a different angle. Anyone else scroll through LinkedIn and constantly feel behind in their career? Everyone I know is exiting from MBB to VC/PE and I’m still making peanuts at Big 4. How do you deal with knowing you’re mediocre/less sharp?

Currently doing MVA insurance defense. Just the job I got out of law school. I’ve been really trying to switch to IP. Will I have any problems? Only been practicing for 6 months.

Is it worth it to go back to school for a better track to a FAANG company? I wanted to see if anyone has successfully exited mortgage underwriting and if there are any exit opportunities with more growth potential in real estate or finance. Would love any input!

The tech job pays 15k more, but from what I can see will be a cluster and super long hours (has EU stakeholders). Maybe a pipe dream, but I want to have a "somewhat" decent wlb while still growing my career toward strategy and finance.

Thoughts on which one is better?

Should I specialize in Blockchain or AI? I’m a freshman in a CS degree and I can’t decide. My main argument to choose blockchain is the easy entry with little experience and high salary, I plan on growing my skills during the bear market and get a job once the market recovers. Regarding AI, I find this field fascinating but I feel like it requires a lot of experience, degrees and diplomas.

What would happen if I left my current company, started at a new one, and got pregnant before 12 months of service with the new company? For reference, I know new company requires 12 months for FMLA, and STD is 3 months.
