I have been on Flex Time for a little over 6 months and the extra time I get to spend with my family on top of already being remote has been amazing, as well as more time to read. Growing up I did not like to read, but I realized I didn’t like reading required books, but I absolutely reading books I like. Between free audiobooks from Libby and physical books, I’ve read/listened about 10 books in the last 6 months compared to ZERO after I graduated college 10+ years ago. Time>Money
I've been struggling to focus when I'm working and feel like I'm not putting in enough hours of actually working time. It makes me feel guilty and anxious. I work from home. Going to a coffee shop often helps. What helps you be more focused and effective? I started a new job 2 months ago. The amount of learning can be overwhelming and my bandwidth just feels pathetic. Any advice?
Would you accept this raise or renegotiate? I’ve posted before about feeling underpaid and many of you confirmed my feelings were valid. I’m an EA with 6+ yrs experience working remote for a very successful Bay Area startup. My salary is 63k.. no health benefits but I do have 401k and unlimited PTO.
