Which offer is best to break into IB.

Plan:

Recent graduate (22 y/o) considering three offers.

Planning to complete a masters at LSE after two years in one of the positions to spring board my career into IB.


Options:

A. A corporate finance graduate program at an energy company.

B. An internship with a boutique VC firm.

C. A markets business analyst position at Citi.

I feel like all my networking feeds and certifications are geared to technical roles and technical buzzwords. Note that at MS, 2nd year bonuses in my group last year were 90-115K, while MBA associates received a pro-rated 90K stub (~40k). Interesting all the noise about these PPT, my take:

The pandemic took all the upside of an IB analyst life (client meetings in person, fancy trips, suit up, worshiped at networking events) and left all the juniors with the downside (long hours, monkey-like type of job, aggressive work environment).

Not that the complaints are not sort of legitimate but you may need to revise the decision-making process that led you to accept a return offer. Specially if you were looking for less hours.
