Anyone who is ex-consulting and moved to industry miss the events? I don't miss the lack of WLB, but I miss getting tickets to conferences, team events and DU.
Pandemic has been good and bad, since I guess no one is going anywhere, but also because industry office is closed so no in-house events either. Miss getting varied experiences across different clients and industries that consulting offered.
Anyone else feel like their world shrunk a ton when they left consulting for industry?

Don’t miss them in the least, as I’ve never been a fan of forced togetherness. I saw enough of my coworkers and clients all day at work that I had zero desire to spend one more iota of time with them at dinner/events. Had my own interests and hobbies to pursue.

like

Absolutely not. All of those after work events were the bane of my existence. If I was leaving work before 6pm on the odd day, I didn’t want to go to an event, I just wanted to go home

What I miss about consulting is absolutely NOTHING! So glad to be back in Industry and surrounded by SANE people.

Haha yes consultants know how to party! I miss the cool venues too. Now my team has a a boring white elephant party in a chain restaurant with crappy wine selection.

ii) what is the compensation range for deals Managing Director in a Tier 1 city (NYC, etc.)

Hi guys,

I switched 20 days back to Optum. I have 7 years of experience working as a full stack Engineer, who is passionate working on both front end and back end on latest technologies. But my project is working only on back end with 10 years old tech stack. There is no front end work at all. What should I do?
I don't like working here at all, but I am not sure whether moving out again in a month will give bad Impression on my resume. Hence please give me advice on this situation

Hi Fishes,

I was offered RSUs for the first time as part of my compensation. I think I understand the concept as such but there are a few intricacies I was looking to clarify. Could anyone let me know if my grant date is 9th nov, 2022 and vesting period is 1 year, will I get RSUs allotted at the price of stock on grant date or vest date (in this case 9th nov, 2023)? Happy to connect in DMs as well

I don’t want things to go “back to normal,” and lately I’ve been reading what feels like a lot of disingenuous arguments for reopening “for people’s mental health.” As someone who was suffering from the way things were before and is now thriving from the slowdown (both in work and personal life), I wish we could all stop pretending like we were living in some mental health utopia before the shut down.

My firm paid merit increases to most employees, except me and one other individual (amongst the few people who shared this information). Therefore, this is not a company wide policy. Do I have any right in this case? It was paid out last Friday. Can companies legally do that?
