Hi there. Ex Deloitte Sr Mgr here, currently in tech pre sales (SaaS / MarTech). Recently spoke to both Salesforce and Adobe recruiters for roles that I thought were lateral moves (Sr SA / Sr SC), therefore I did not proceed with the selection process. The recruiters from both companies told me they typically hire at that level, and people are considered for promotion to Principal in 1 to 2 years. I found that odd. Is that right? What’s the typical TC for SAs and SCs there? (15+ yrs exp).

CPQ
Ditto above. Will add Marketing Cloud and Data Cloud
For what it's worth, my employer just implemented CPQ with an incredibly knowledgeable consultant, then posted and hired someone in-house for long term support. During that process, we only received 1 "qualified" applicant who got the job by default. I'm still not convinced the person is qualified so I second all the CPQ suggestions. 😂
Our consultant gave us a suggested salary range and title to target. No doubt more money will attract better talent. In our case I think the manager didn't go too far out of the way to attract talent or take enough time and acted like they had no idea how to know if they were qualified or not. 1 "qualified" interview that was hired is a joke IMO. I also can't be sure what was actually offered vs what we told them to offer since I'm on a different team myself. We have great tech talent in the org, that SF team is weird though, I was effed downstream no matter what they offered and I'm pretty sure the consultants didn't spread the word because they'd met the hiring manager already and didn't actually want to recommend 😕
At the very least, it allows me to learn more about CPQ which I had no prior experience with and grow my skillset where the 2 roles meet. They were hired post implementation due to red tape so I've become a little bit of a SME in the meantime which is hilarious compared to real SME but is opportunity for me to skill up I guess. I just listened carefully to the consultant who was a wealth of knowledge comparatively.

Seeing strong CPQ interest as well
Slack and CPQ
Teams is given away for free in 365 so it’s not exactly a fair fight. Slack id still the second largest messaging platform at least in the US. They still absolutely overpaid for it though
