Everyone I know who has switched to DaVinci have no desire to ever switch back.

My understanding is that the color control alone makes it better
I’m a freelancer and the studios I work with all use premiere. I’ve heard Davinci is great for color and not actually so great for editing but never tried it myself. Also it seems one of the main complaints about premiere is it crashes a lot but it hardly ever crashes for me? My professional editor friends say the same. So I tend to think that complaint is coming from people who pull all kinds of bad codecs in at once and think things will just work great.
I know folks who have made the switch to Davinci and said how much better it is. I can't speak first hand as I’m not sure video editor.
Resolve Studio wipes the floor with Premiere and handles most of the basic day to day motion tasks you'd otherwise jump into After Effects for. Not to mention it's a flat cost, and upgrades to new releases are frequent and free - no subscription required, so especially good for freelancers.
As someone else mentioned, the color controls are fantastic, deep, and flexible. I can't sing it's praises enough, and no, I don't work for Blackmagic.
It will take some getting used to the UI - windows are resizable but not movable as in Premiere. But, that means you can jump onto any computer with it installed and you will immediately know where everything is.
My best suggestion is to download the free feature-limited version and see what you think. Premiere's recent janky UI updates have been desperately trying to copy Resolve's UI, which will become obvious quickly.
