Chief
Probably because they hate being called secretaries.
We can stop calling them secretaries when they stop being secretaries.
“Do you know who my dad is?” energy except it’s from a full-grown adult.
Both are acceptable
It’s like that chihuahua energy that stands under the person and barks. 😂 They know they’ll get away with it.
Who calls Executive Assistants, "secretaries?" It's 2024. You can't treat them like crap anymore.
Assistant and Secretary have the same connotation haha
Because they have to deal with the entitled consultants who think everyone works for them 😂
Because our main job is managing allllll the egos! Yes…of course you are important. 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
Sometimes? I think it's part of the onboarding mate... Perhaps even part of the training!
Ob they think they are entitled
That’s how we like Joan ;)
Most of the assistants I know and work with are kind but also pretty overworked so you might be mistaking bitchy for terse. Maybe ask them how they are and try to get to know them before you make that judgement
I started my career as an admin assistant. They hold a lot of power, if you are nice to them, they will move mountains for you. If you are not, they have 99 problems and now you’re one.
THIS!!! 💯💯💯💯
Because ur one of 100 people tugging on their sleeve. And if u don’t have ur own admin for them to collaborate with ur probably not as much a priority - just sayin
By your choice of words I am going to assume you deserve to be treated like this…
Because they deal with entitled consultants who think they are so much better than someone in their role. The number of consultants they encounter who got the job because of momma and daddy with zero work experience is pretty constant.
That's because people like you give them grief.
Because they typically work for someone in power and assume that power by extension or association. Most have little or no education. Most executives rely far too heavily upon them. If you want to take down a person in power or find out their personal business then make friends with their admin asst. They love the attention and sense of importance it gives them and will tell u everything if u approach them the right way. Simply getting access to the execs calendar will give u enough intelligence to determine the best course of action and thwart forces that may be aligning against u.
cause they have power (in the sense that they control access to those who have power).
