25 years into my career, here’s my advice. Be sincerely happy for her. Celebrate her success. Do not compare yourself to other people; no good comes of it. If you have reasonable talent and do quality work consistently, your day WILL come. :)
Valid point, though I think the requirement of not acting like the northern end of a south-bound horse should be self-evident.
Don’t need to be the life of the party either though. Just be kind. :)
Becomes a lot easier when you acknowledge the role of luck and that life is not always fair.
Pro
Realize life isn't fair and comparing yourself to others is a fool's errand. Focus on your own personal development and set your own goals.
Ask her for a referral? Don’t be jealous, get in on the money train.

Likeability and charisma sometimes go far.
Join her! There’s room for everyone. Friends support friends.
Feel good that you have someone in your network who is successful, and can open doors to opportunities for you in future. I know it’s easier said than done, but trust me, nothing good will come out of being jealous of others success
Be happy and congratulate her. It shows how a Partner can make impact one’s career for better or worse. I have been in both situations where partners supported me and was promoted early and fast and a partner that prevented me from getting promoted.
She’s your friend yes? Ask her to find a spot for you on the team!
Is she single?
I felt the same but realize life is all about long run, you may make less now but if you keep grinding and making right moves you may make even more than her later on, just be happy for her now and your time will come when it’s meant to
Did you mean 3 YOE? You don’t get to 170k until you have 3 YOE (Second-year senior)
Lol OP so bitter wtf

OP, you are envious vs. jealous. And it’s not a good look. I make about the same as her with many more yoe and I’m thrilled that she vibed with a Partner and got her shot.
It’s always about being in the right place at the right time with the right qualities (including attitude).
That’s interesting — they slated her as a consultant vs an SA?
How do you not get jealous? You realize that the average person your age makes close to half of what you make, and be grateful. Your friend’s situation sounds exceptional, yes, but you there will always be people making more than you. You can’t win the comparison game...so stop playing
Is the partner male?
Are you a guy? Could be a diversity drive pushed her along too. If you’re a girl, you should position yourself at the right places.

What? D2, this makes no sense.
Sometimes I am also bitter because I work with US members but I get paid 1/10 of what they get because I am not based in the US.
Your friend is better than you.
