How do I get over it...I hold my previous and my new paycheck up next to each other. All done
You get over it pretty quick once that new check hits lol Just left a great team and can confirm the quick passing of guilt. You have to look out for yourself and people generally understand. If they don’t, they weren’t as great of a person as you thought. Plus I was told I could always come back to my firm so that eased it as well
Thanks for the advice!
Any one of your team mates would do the same to you for a great opportunity.
I used to feel very attached to my team too and stayed back for them. 4 months ago they all left. Felt lonely af. Now I’m leaving in 2 weeks. It’s good to make good friends at work that make it feel like home. But remember you’re there with a purpose and you’ll get over it soon. You can find good people everywhere. I’ve made good friends in every workplace.
Good point of view. Thanks A1!
It depends on why you're leaving. I would say that if there are people you care about leaving, do what you can to ease the transition and then keep in touch with the ones that matter to you. People who know you will understand.
Leaving because of the salary mainly. The opportunity that I’m offered is too good to let it pass. I’ll take your advice and do my best to ease the transition as I really like my team and my current PM.
Just stay in touch with them?
I also felt some sadness leaving my team for a better role.
Reach out to them personally, keep in touch, and if they’re good/friends they will be 100% supportive. It happens all the time in this industry.
Leave on a high and good night and expand that network!
Thanks for the advice!
Buy yourself a nice present with the raise. Fuck em
Remind myself that they would never feel that same level of loyalty towards me and that I am easily replaceable 🙃
Everyone is replaceable, just at different cost level.
