All recruiters are like that, that's why I have nothing to do with them. You are your best advocate, and the job alerts that you set up will do the job for you. Many places use LinkedIn, so I suggest that you set up a paid membership, and use Indeed.com. Be realistic with yourself as to what titles apply to your experience, how far of a drive, and what your worth is to be paid. Make sure the information on both accounts are identical, because it will make the interview strange if you have one resume different from your profile. Do yourself a favor and rid yourself of all recruiters.
Most of them are young kids (some are seasoned but not much diff) barely with any meaningful corporate experience that instills skills about responsibility, respect, integrity etc. They're all in there for a paycheck and not much more.
Some are young a lot are experienced and just don't care or know what they are doing. I have heard many say at this point there are so many candidates they cherry pick to make the most them can.
you probably just encountered some unprofessional ones and that happens. so whenever I have ppl contact me I ask for the job description, pay range, and benefit package right away. you could also see how they write in the email.
I have found that they want their commission no matter what. I have been sent jobs I am no where near qualified for and ask to change my resume to make me look qualified.
