A certificate from an Ivy or top school isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on. An MBA is the gold standard for a reason.
MBA is good if you want to pursue a higher role or maybe for promotion. But sometimes, it really depends on the company and your role, Our company values MBA more than certification.
Ivy is only necessary if you intend to stay within ivy circles. It's really just an expensive networking system. I encourage going for the MBA still, because it does still hold some weight over certifications in many firms, but I think your perception is right and if you'd rather do a cert then you'll probably still find work with one as long as you're good at your job.
