Why do employers combine positions and then pay less? I saw a position for a Fleet and Safety Director. Not a Fleet Safety Director, but a Fleet and Safety Director. They are in charge of maintaining the fleet and overseeing the company’s safety program. Two separate programs, sandwiched together. 6 -8 year requirement, with $80,000-$100,000 salary. Some will say, that’s not bad and it’s not for one of those as a starter but combining roles… come on. Am I overreacting? Let’s hear your thoughts.

I’m an application analyst in the midwest for a small CAH. I was hired into this position at $27.15/hr and have now worked here for a year. I’m curious how my salary compares with others working in the midwest. My primary responsibilities are systems/HIE integrations using Meditech, HL7 transfer, SQL report writing, and user administration (just to name a few).

I am expecting an offer from Master Card for Senior Software Engineer position in O Fallon MO. Please let me know what kind of base salary I can expect with 11 yrs experience . Been in Seattle for ~1 year and something I’ve observed is the constant s*it-talking of the city from the locals. Is this because they haven’t experienced other places? While the current homelessness in the city needs to be handled, crime is still relatively low compared to other major cities. The complaints about gloominess also seems a bit dramatic.
