I created my own album with photographs from my photographer. I used Mixbook and ended up with a 65-page, 12-by-12-inch album for around $150. It took me all day to put it together, but it was well worth it.
They’re absurd me and my partner are taking the photos from the photographer and making our own online. Premium options for like300 vs 1200 in our case
Just a guess, but if people will pay, they'll keep increasing the rates... Wedding expenses are insane!
Yeah we've been shopping around and getting the same kind of insane pricing. We're just going to do it ourselves, it'll be a fun side project for me haha
What? That's absurd. You can even DIY the albums. Just get the photos from them and make your own album. You'll save more if you do that.
Keep in mind that photographers charge a lot for their wedding albums. Normally, they send the photos to a lab, which prints them and places them in an album, and then charges you 3-4 times what they spent for them. Hence, while the album is of great quality, it is worth far less than what you end up spending.
Is it charged per page or per spread? The latter is fine, but for the first is a little pricey, unless you booked someone extremely high-end.
Most albums cost between $800 and $2500, depending on the photographer, and extra pages cost between $30 and $80 each page.
I did mine with Milk; I paid approximately $550 on my album, but the quality is excellent and similar to many of the pro albums used by wedding photographers.
My photog is 8500 for the day and yeah + 900 for album. But she is having them printed on some special museum quality paper and putting them in a beautiful book. I know I won’t do that myself after the fact realistically. Just another drop in the bucket for a book that I’ll have for a lifetime . I think it’s worth it . I’ve heard of many ppl saying they’ll print their own and never do, which is sad
I made my own and it cost me probably a third of that
