Hello RSM coworkers! I am thrilled to be moving to RSM into a Scheduler roll. I just found out yesterday and want to be as prepared as possible in the next steps.
So here are my questions.
How long does the background study take? I'm guessing admin staff have a study that is faster and less complicated than someone in Tax ect.
When training at home what did you need that wasn't supplied by RSM? My home office is well stocked but I want to be as prepared as possible.
Thanks in advance!

The key is to document everything. When decisions are made, good or bad, make sure to document when the decision was made and who was present.
Decision Records
I try to keep everything tracked in the place where the work is housed as well as documenting decisions via email (especially if they’re not mine, I don’t agree with them, and don’t want to be blamed for them later).
I will also say that personally…as a woman…I think I’m expected to remember things and sometimes the guys sit back. I’ve tried to gently push back on this especially if someone says that I will remember…”let’s take note of those so no one has to keep that mental load”.
Probably because priorities shift so often that they can't remember the reason at the time it shifted. We haven't had a solid roadmap in the last few years since we were acquired and now have way too many PMs and executives. Every six months it's a new story about what's hot😒
Capture decisions as part of the RAID log - document everything. if you use tools like JIRA or ASANA then document decisions in there - capture the who, why, what, when and any evidence
