It actually amazing and very easy to use collaboratively on projects. I left PwC recently and miss being able to use it with my teams.
You can easily save the google docs later into MS for finalization, but pretty much everything you can do in Google. Also D1 literally has no idea so just ignore that comment.
Used it while at PwC and miss the ease of collaboration of the GSuite experience
I was skeptical too when I jumped over from D, but I much prefer google now. When I go back and use O365 products for collaboration for certain clients they feel clunky. Google online tools much better than MSFT online tools.

Is this a real thing?
I recently made the move and am now using Google instead of MS. After a month or two of trying to figure out where things are, I find it is actually way easier to use.

What about Gmail vs outlook?
outlook blows gmail out of the water. o365 vs gmail is a much closer comparison
Google Sheets is perfectly fine for the vast majority of things that we do. And in some ways it has capabilities much superior to Excel. With that being said I work with some incredibly complex functions, arrays, and VBA coding. For some of these I have not found the functionality in Sheets to replicate these capabilities.
I jumped from PwC to Deloitte. 2 years at each firm now. Switching from Google slides, sheets, and gmail to O365 was amazing. O365 allows collaboration as much as google. Not saying the others are wrong. It’s personal preference.
Pros: best in class for collaboration by a long shot
Cons: limited functionality that can't be replicated outside of native desktop apps
Overall it's worth it for the 90% of use cases because they are simple tasks that benefit most by collaboration. But when you really need to churn data in a spreadsheet or when your slides are becoming massive and you need more/better shapes you cant replace the OGs.
I had a client use google suite and at first I was like WTF is this. I miss being able to collaborate on decks and spreadsheets so easily. Mainly having a history of every cell that has changed 😂😂😂.

Came from P. I’d say G Suite is awesome to get 80% of the way there on decks (especially if with Directors and Partners) and then you can pull it down into PPT to finish it off
