Rising Star
Too much competition, and a lot of jobs ads aren’t real. The company I work for has 8 job openings that have been on the website for MONTHS. It’s only because I work here that I know we are fully staffed and they aren’t actively interviewing.
WOW!
You may have to re-skill in this market. Lots of jobs are being automated away at the moment.
Yeah I just finished college last summer, been trying to get a job so I can put my foot in the door. You know.
I’m going through the same thing. Honestly one of my strengths. Is interviewing. Getting face to face with someone. So much of this stuff is online. AI algorithms. It has not been easy.
I’m completely the opposite :)
I think we are all in the same boat. Between competition, AI, and scams, it’s making it near to impossible. I’ve been looking for just over a year now probably applied to at least 250 places sometimes same place more than once for different jobs. I’ve had about 10 interviews and out of those 10 interviews eight of them have ghosted me. I’m close to giving up.
I hear you! I'm unsure what they are looking for these days. I have all the qualifications and beyond. I am also NOT a genx - I have MANY MANY years of experience.
I feel you, im looking for another job a different route and get nothing, I feel helpless
Same
It’s not you or your fault, there’s a lot uncertainty right now along with AI.
YES, AI is controlling all of these resumes with the exact wording they're looking for, even though we are completely qualified.
Try dumbing down your resume to get a grunt job....any job is better than no job. You can then target positions from a point of less desperation.
I signed up for the mta/cbre data center courses for r weeks. It's free and no experience and I haven't heard from them. It starts this summer.🤔
Maybe phone, follow up using their email?
It is hard right now, and it is not just you. The job market has become exhausting with fake postings, automated screening, hundreds of applicants, and companies taking weeks to respond. Please do not let this market make you question your value. Sometimes the strategy has to shift: apply directly on company websites, tailor your resume to the posting, network with people already inside the company, and follow up when possible. Hopelessness is understandable, but you are not hopeless.
I feel like the same also! Help us find a job
No like I get interviews but don’t get hired.
Don’t even receive on wha went well.
Have a few face-to-face Practice Interview sessions with various working professionals such as a mentor, a trusted friend, a sibling/cousin, your parents, and get feedback from them on what you are doing right and what you need to improve on. Also, look in the mirror by yourself and practise answering a few standard interview questions. Eg: facial expression, body language, do you speak with a friendly tone and confident manner? Do you sound enthusiastic about the job and their team? Go ace those interviews! :)
You're not alone. I've asked that question over 300 times as I look at all of my job applications.
I want to support my parents but I can’t even do that if I have no money and no job.
I understand
I’m trying to leave the department I’m in now to start as a sterile tech
And it’s like pulling teeth
3 years, numerous interviews.
