Why is working late or extra hours is cool with people now a days? all developers are paid for 8 hours work and we're working 11+ hours and also even on Saturdays. Why is this culture promoted and accepted.

I want to work for The Walt Disney Company corporate offices. Anywhere. I don't care where there's an office. I want to work for that company. I don't know how to drive in rain or snow, but if they have an office in places that snow, I WILL MAKE THE SACRIFICE 🤣

But I still have questions though 🤔 -

What is the culture like?
What are the work hours?
Does Disney pay for relocation for new hires like some of the FAANG companies do?

How does your company manages HR or team building activities in WFH model ? is it effective in refreshing you or team culture ? Or is it just an extra overhead now ?

I feel it was a good break/refresh when at office but now it really feels just an extra overhead siting on desk pretending to have fun when you can ACTUALLY have rest/fun by just taking break for that time and instead interact with people around yourself AT Home. Feels more refreshing.

My friend received two job offers for Account Executive roles: a Mid-Market role with Confluent and an Enterprise role with ThoughtSpot. He’s conflicted because Confluent is a more established company, ThoughtSpot is Pre-IPO. Confluent is a lucrative product to sell and has established SDR reps so there’s a good blend of inbound and outbound sales. Thoughtspot is more of a startup culture where most of the sales comes from outbound and it’s a tougher sell.

I quit my previous job approximately 5-6 months ago due to toxic culture and being pressured to commit fraud… I fear hiring managers see that I’ve been out of work for this time and may assume I was fired or laid off. I need some help in deciding what to do. My total YOE is 5.6. My client is impressed with my work and asked my company to imitate H1. They even initiated my H1 but it was not picked in the lottery. I was depressed and wanted to leave my company but my manager assured that they will retry it again next year if not picked they would even try L1.
