It depends on gender and biomechanics, not motivation.
Men typically carry more upper-body muscle and have a center of gravity closer to the bar, which makes pull-ups more accessible. Many men can do at least one strict pull-up without instruction.
Women tend to have a lower center of gravity and less upper-body mass, which makes the movement mechanically harder. For most women, a pull-up is a trained skill that requires a progression. You start with dead hangs, active hangs, scap pulls, negatives, and assisted reps. Without this kind of training, the vast majority of women will never achieve a correct, unassisted pull-up.
If you don’t have a trainer, fitness apps or ChatGPT can help you build a plan.

Sure I’m “scared of AI” because it’s guzzling up freshwater and leeching off the power grid to answer questions we can (fairly easily) find the answers to by asking a professional or watching a YouTube tutorial. So I think it is wasteful, and in my professional life I very rarely have a use case for it. Also folks with a tech boner keep shoving it down our throats which gets old real fast
AI is a flaming bag of poop. Stop stepping in it.
The internet, yes the internet, is a flaming bag of poop. Stop stepping in it.
The internet is a tool for use at work. Leave it at work and do not socialize with/through it.
AI is solution looking for absurd problems.
I've been in digital marketing for 20+. The internet is for two things: 1. Making lots of financial transactions really fast and 2. Marketing Platform/Data Collection. Just ask ChatGPT what good the internet and/or AI has done for humans if you're feeling mischievously ironical.
A dog keeps returning to its pile of vomit to eat it = Humans and the internet/AI
The road trip one is worse. Isn’t the fun of a road trip planning stops and making unexpected discoveries along the way? But no let’s ask a machine that might have a hallucination and send you somewhere that doesn’t even exist. Trying to pretend like its main use isn’t obliterating critical thinking skills by answering prompts that are all “do my homework for me” or “do my job for me”
don’t ask it to plan the every minute of your vacation, ask it to help you get from the terminal to your Airbnb if you don’t have a car and need to stow baggage for an appointment on the way. . Or don’t, but you never know what helpful thing it may alert you about that you wouldn’t have known otherwise.

The pullup is one of the most nuanced and difficult movements there is. The mechanics are surprisingly complex if you want to perform them safely and while engaging all the correct muscle groups. Throw any shmuck at a bar and they’re going to hammer their biceps and shoulders while barely engaging their lats or scapula at all.
You don’t. But it’s not as simple as “just start doing pull-ups” for 95% of people globally... who can’t even do one. Or an estimate of 30% of men who can’t do one.
They could Google it, if they don’t know how or aren’t able to…yet. Or go even more old school and look it up in a manual/exercise book on tips and training recos to get there.
But if you Google it, you will first get a response by Gemini. Which is simply a different AI approach to search, analyze, and present a POV vs ChatGPT.
Your point about “unnecessary use of AI” wreaks of “get off my lawn” old man vibes.
Is it the best scenario to portray for proving Chat GPT’s value is a legit question... but I think they’re trying to show how AI can help in everyday life, not just in the business world. To make it feel helpful and supportive, not just a functional search tool. A partner in life. Etc.
Is that creepy, odd, etc? Maybe. Time will tell.
Hard agree on “partner in life”
Hard disagree for “just Google it.” Even Google has moved on.
I actually don’t think it’s even as deep as “a partner in life” at all. It’s just meant to show how ChatGPT can condense, summarize and customize a bunch of research specific to your needs to accomplish everyday goals or tasks. To me it shows the most human, least threatening view of AI. Not far off from how you’d imagine the transition went from printed matter to browsing the internet; it’s just a tool to help empower and move humanity forward.
Maybe not (partners in life), but that’s what some (like Amazon with Alexa and Pete Davidson…or “Big D”) seem to be going for. Just a hunch.

Counterpoint: who cares?
But yeah, I don’t think you understood the brief. To me, all three are pressing you to use it as an alternative search engine instead of just asking it to summarize things or give you a writing prompt. So the mundanity is the point.
Because the reality of AI is that people use it instead of Google or opening a book. There was a stat, I can’t recall it perfectly, but I think it’s 95% of AI users are using it for day to day questions or things you could find within Google’s first page.
Chief
Google purposely and cynically degraded the search results over the last few years to serve more ads. So i don’t blame people for how they are using AI, even if they are using it poorly.

I bet your technique sucks.
Life is a series of pull ups. You can go through it struggling or you can use the tools that are out there however you might see them as useful. I ask.ChatGPT all kinds of random questions, stuff that I would never ask google. It’s like having a person in the room that knows almost anything vs consulting the Yellow Pages for daily questions. Try it and you’ll see.
