Which one to choose between Optum and Tiger Analytics for Data Scientist position? Where can I expect better data science domain expertise (In my previous companies I found very less understanding of Data Science practices as team)? Heared good things about both of these. Also hearing Tiger is expanding rapidly and getting some crap projects as well in the name of data science. Could someone put light on these things?

Yes. You’re fine. Just get in the door to get some experience, and depending on the industry, certifications are exponentially cheaper and more prestigious than most degrees. More companies are seeing that colleges aren’t providing adequate value, and things like MBAs could work against you.
Depends on field. In nursing? EASILY. Just be a travel nurse and you can make $200k+/yr
I have a GED and I make roughly 200-400k a year. Now I own my own business have my insurance license/series 6/7/65 license but it’s easily possible to make money no matter what your education is. The key is sales. There is no actual limit on how much you can make. Once your brain switches to that the sky is the limit. Doesn’t matter what your education is if your good with people you can easily make 100k plus within a year or two in my field and there are many other fields that are the same. Professional licenses TRUMP education and most do not require a degree. Now I do want to say in a corporate world not having a Bachelors+ can still be looked down upon in some sectors. Which is dumb. In my field a 20 something working the box office at a movie theater could become a star agent and someone with an MBA could crash and fail. So we don’t care about education as much as drive and hunger to make money. But if your going the typical college corporate route of a “worker” an AA typically won’t get you to 100k unless it’s a skill trade degree which isn’t corporate or some tech jobs with AA or less can make 100k. If you know how to program they don’t care if you have a degree.
Ever consider OF or FeetFinder?
Any sales role can crush that
I don't think so in finance. Sales, healthcare, technical skills like plumbing and electrical, construction contractor can be well-paying, but so many positions in the financial world require specific educational requirements. To beat the system, you would have to have gained access to a position to obtain experience and skills that would trump the need for a degree.
Depends on if salaries keep up with inflation. Degrees aren’t everything. Just have to choose a lucrative industry
Yes, if you are a good sales person you can.
I don’t think one has to be good sales person. One is always a salesperson.
Easy. Just grind
Yes you can
Yeah - my bro in law did it. Keep grinding 💪
The odds aren't in your favor for it. You can, but it would take a really long time and you'd have to move up several positions probably. BA or MBA is going to earn the most.
It’s definitely possible. BUT you have to be great at something that does not require a specific degree. Good news is lots of jobs don’t really require a degree. But you gotta hustle, know what you’re good at and work it.
Yes. Sales, Tech (certs will help), health care.
Find an employer to pay for bachelors. Use it as a learning and networking platform. Only go to school for a topic you’re passionate about. If the passion is not there, work a crappy job until it develops. Avoid debt…
Start with a company that has tuition reimbursement which will allow you to continue your education. Experience and good work ethics will help. Keep a positive mindset and have a mentor.
Anyone say no or they doubt it have no idea what they’re talking about. That is no impediment to six figure salary. Work hard and produce and no one will ever ask you.
As previous posters have mentioned sales roles can easily surpass that. All the corp guys/gals on here moving up the ladder will tell you it’s basically a pipe dream but I know guys that never graduated high school making $1mm+ a year.
I have been making over $100k without a degree at all, and for a major company. It just depends on the company, honestly. I just got my AA and that doesn’t change anything with my salary. Working on bachelors and my salary will not change.
