This, however, will take at least a week or two. Should I just submit application w/o referral given that there are already a lot of ppl applying and the role might be filled?

I'm a consultant working directly with an analyst and Principal. The principal has told me he would like me to act as the engagement manager for this project. The analyst pushes Back so hard on all my asks - it's difficult to manage. Getting frustrated- I feel like he doesn't value my opinion? Today i reminded him of a task he owns and his response was "good on you for remembering that". I ended up doing it myself. Kicking myself because I feel like I set up a bad precedent. Advice? Also: this guy is 3 months into the job
