Would literally take my current salary. This country is on a downward spiral
Is this texas take coming from watching too much cnn or you have yourself experienced something
Damn whats in the water at Deloitte. It would probably take 2x the money for me to go to Texas, not a huge Texas guy
Good question, 2x absolute number but i’d want some assurances before going. There would have to be a path to a green card giving you the ability to eventually leave whatever companies sponsoring your visa.
To me the main selling point would be to cash in while waiting on a green card to eventually then leave Texas. The other thing is whatever they’re offering you is a low ball relative to what they’re paying an American and you’re going to be stuck with it for a while. So it should be enough where you’d feel comfortable not getting a huge pay bump over the years of waiting on the green card.
I would take a pay cut. Screw this country
Screw America
Texas is amazing. Living expenses are dirt cheap. You can live like a king in $125-150k
I think I’ve offered plenty of constructive comments. This includes questions why someone who apparently works at BMO in Texas commenting on a Toronto consulting bowl.

It's worth it for the endless high paying job opportunities. You get promoted fast in the US, then you have so many networking opportunities and can job hop to quickly move your income up and move to a better area easily. It's not like that in Canada. Also, you can travel to LA and NY in just a couple hours for weekend trips. Texas isn't that bad and not much different than Toronto after awhile - you won't even notice any difference after a few weeks. I am from NY and have worked in Toronto and have worked in almost every state. It's not that different.

Depends on the city. Houston sucks, Austin is cool, Dallas is ok.
“Greater Dallas”, not Dallas-Dallas
