30-40% of your total comp number is made up by equity. Obviously this will vary but that’s about the average from all the comp figures I’ve seen.

It’s a fair question RSUs are a significant portion of your total comp at Big Tech companies, while just a few percentage points at most industry and consulting jobs. Big Tech salaries aren’t crazy high, but their TC is due to the RSU packages.
Makes the Amazon 5/15/40/40 vesting schedule more attractive imo. Get your shares upfront at these low prices and have 2 years of potential appreciation to capture stock gains before equity becomes substantial portion of package
How is this vesting schedule attractive?! You can still hold stocks after they get vested and will pay less tax if the price is low
Number of jobs available will be a lot less too when times are hard for them .
