Coach
Yeah, the problem here is your expectations not matching reality.
Your choice.
Your. Choice.
Who are you mad at??
But you call yourself a Sr. Partner Marketing Manager with 20+ yrs experience?
And you come here to whine.
I question your title, your experience, & your maturity.
You come across as young & dumb, but mostly privileged.
My suggestion would be that you resign so the position would actually go to someone who has the business acumen to do its duties, and tell this story over over-priced bourbons to your pals that are still searching for masculinity on their social media feeds.
Too much?
Then an alternative would be to STFU do the job that you chose and don’t whine about it.

Kroll's response was harsh and uncalled for, but don't let that distract from the genuine opinion of someone who has had a lucrative 30-year career, with plenty of ups and downs along the way.
I get why you are disappointed, but from what you are describing, you aren't justified in feeling that way. It sounds to me as though you have landed a secure role with a salary that represents where the market is at currently. Any single one of us can choose to overvalue ourselves and be salty about it, but our employer has shown us exactly what we are worth to them.
If you truly think you are justified, update your resume and go get what you are worth elsewhere.
…still not bullying.
Be offended.
…still not bullying.
Professionals react on intellect not emotion.
The author stated his dilemma that he created, and I pointed that out.
I have never met anyone who has worked in some capacity for 20+ yrs and then whined about it, and then when it did not met his narrative call people mean.
But again, I’m sure he’s happy that you have his back.
And with that, good day. Best of luck to you, and your future endeavors.
So based on the comments I received on this post, I can see this site is full of bots and people who have nothing better to do with their time than to attack people offering their toxic opinions, these are likely the same people sitting in their parents basement playing video games I'm OUT, what a disappointment Glassdoor
So you don't get the advice you want and you throw a temper tantrum like a 2 year old? Didn't let the door hit you on your way out... Nobody needed you to share your exit 🤷.
