Depends on what you’re currently making… $50k to $80k is a massive jump.
$250k to $280k is less noticeable
For me Hell no. $30K to move to NYC. The cost of living change would be way worse than $30K.
I'd take the raise. I really don't care for a remote job. I'm single and don't cook anyway, so that could be a contributing factor to why I don't see merit in being able to stay home. But yeah 30K is a good raise imo!
And how much will your rent go up if moving to NYC?
$30k a month raise yes, $30k a year is only $14k after taxes per year which is like $1.1k per month so hell no
For me no but it would depend on the commute and if you already live in NYC. Another factor would be if you have kids or if you’re currently taking care of someone.
if you are already in NYC and it is actually 3x a week, then yeah i’d consider it.
No. I’m Fully remote and have kids. I do all my work in half the time it takes my peers so I have more time to volunteer at my kids school or go to Pilates during the day. 180 to 210 would not be worth it at all to give that up.
If you’re already in nyc. If not factor commuter costs in…probably easily at least $5-8k a year and additional nyc tax witholding
Depends on length of commute
$30k is nothing.

I’d never give up my remote job
No. Would not be enough for me
