Yes. Do not do this. It's a bad look. You can work with multiple recruiters but you need to keep track of roles and don't double apply.
This.
Certainly not ideal but it accidentally happened to me (i.e. a recruiter submitted me without my express permission) and I still got an offer so I think if they’re interested it won’t stop them from bringing you in.
Recruiters should never submit you without your permission. One did that to me and I dumped him.
You would be responsible for the death of a recruiter. Could you live with that?
Apparently it happens a lot. I have headhunters after me. I don’t even know what the position is for but they call me aggressively. I realized after several calls from different headhunters that they were calling about the same firm! I had know idea because the name of the firm is always a secret 🤔
They don’t send my resume without my permission! Of course not. I’m making the point that there is a lot of competition in the field of recruitment, apparently. Unfortunately, the recruiters do not let me know the name of the firm. Several times, I have guessed the firm and specifically asked the recruiter and even then they say they are not permitted to tell me but if I give them a name of a firm, they can admit or deny 😞
I think you have to pick one otherwise the firm could get dragged into a fight over the recruiter fee.
Yes, it would. Don’t do that, it’s tacky. You’re a professional and this is common sense. Pick one recruiter to submit you for that position.
It happened to me. Recruiter submitted my resume to a firm without my consent. My resume had already been submitted to the firm. I had to tell the first recruiter about it. No response. IMHO, when this happens, a firm could think that if you can’t manage your job search, how are you going to manage your case load. There is also the question of who submitted you first and gets the fee. Use multiple recruiters but keep track of who submits you to which firm.
