Would you leave a B4 to join Capco for a 40% salary increase? What’s the situation there atm ?

I would join any company (with same or better WLB) for a 40% increase

Depending on how long I’d been in the job prior, sure. I’d go, ride it out for a couple years, then leave and bump up again.

like

It depends on your level. How much a w they offering btw?

like

Senior unfortunately

Yes. If you're an SC at big 4, capco may promo-hire you into a manager level. Do that for a bit, and you can boomerang back to big 4 as a manager with another pay bump.

Not sure what things look like today. Probably losing a lot of talent due to the acquisition.

That’s the plan, but I’m not sure whether it would ruin my exit opp or a chance to get back in B4

Unless I needed the money right then, probably not. If you were able to get that offer, there’s likely other offers you could get in the same range at better companies. You’ll almost certainly have a worse WLB, deal with a difficult corporate culture, and is generally looked upon poorly for exit opps. I’ve had a few coworkers move from B4 to WITCH companies and have universally regretted it

Yeah, I’m definitely not planning to stay there for more than 2 years

I generally like the work I do and the people I work with, but I really don’t like the hours and the constant late nights and weekends. Currently on pace for 2250. Boutique I have been eyeing has billable hour requirement of 1500-1600 and comes with a 20-25% paycut. Is this a stupid idea and should I grind it out until I can move in house? Will this ruin my opportunities down the road?

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.
