When you ask the intern to take meeting notes

Additional Posts in Salary Negotiations
Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase? Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?

Really depends on the degree, i don't think all are worth it
Will you get a raise from that company when you graduate? Or will the degree land you an even better job when you graduate?
Depends on the degree and how much schooling would cost in the long run. If you significantly save more by getting your degree through them than youd make at other places then Id go with the place that offers the degree, especially if its what you want to do and can use it for a hand up later. Can you survive off the salary they are offering you? By how much, cutting it close or enough to live comfortably? Do they have a good schedule that allows you to complete the class for the degree? Those are all things I would consider. If I had a better schedule, could live comfortably, and the amount they paid towards my schooling was more over the course of several years than what I could make at another company I would personally go with them.
It also depends on if they actually pay out the tuition reimbursement and if it is the full amount. Some companies (speaking from experience at my current employer) only offer a small amount per year. BUT they also limit it to a certain number per year (the number changes at their whim each time). If you're the first x to complete the forms, you get it, everyone else is denied. If they use this model just to advertise it as a "benefit," it may not be wise to bank on it.
Make sure you do your research, so you're not screwed over!
