Anybody know if there’s a Toronto Lawyers bowl?
MY WLB sucks
Hi Sharks,
Kindly reply.

TCS is the worst company one can be in.
Cheap mindset management cares more about timesheet, wfo, forceful mandatory trainings, imposing strict restrictions on laptop, access to personal docs only via vpn,no employee well being no salary hikes nth at all.90% projects filled with freshers coz they cost less.No WLB for good dedicated hard working employees as they are punished with more and more work, leaves rewards mostly for people who don’t work. But no issues kyunki job security hai 😂
Hi guys, I need an advice. I have completed my salary discussion with TCS and awaiting offer letter. HR told me I will receive it in the first week of Jan. However before joining I am getting calls from projects in TCS who are asking my experience, notice period etc and some basic questions regarding my work as well. Please tell me is this normal? I have notice period of 60 days. Tata Consultancy

What’s a WITCH?
I have the same question.
Totally agree. Zero upside as a stepping stone unless you are looking to travel downmarket.
Absolute career suicide. Your chances of ever getting a meaningful role at a Tier 1 company in the future will be very slim. Exits would be other WITCH, small, local market consultancies or Protiviti / Slalom types.
Why is this as at the big 4 it’s a great role
Mentor
Because the Big4 are perceived as more polished, and less commoditized type work (whether there’s any true merit to that is a separate convo).
WITCH are perceived as staff aug body shops, largely because that’s true.
It’s also my opinion that the WITCH firms will be more quickly impacted by AI than the B4. B4 has more service lines that require critical thinking that AI can’t really crack yet, while the WITCH firms are heavy on people doing repeatable tasks (exactly the thing that is being displaced by automation and AI).
Wipro, Infosys, TCS, Cognizant, and HCL
I’d throw Capgemini in there as well.
It depends. How much are they willing to pay you?
Everyone I know that went to a WITCH hated it and quit within a year.
Back to the Big 4/IBM/Accenture. No it didn't pay off. No matter how much the WITCH tell you they're moving up the value chain, building practices and industry expertise, creating assets, etc, at the end of the day you're just selling bodies in India and competing on price.
Had to Google that acronym 😏
Me too.
Which WITCH?
Great sandwiches
What about exits to big tech, industry, back to B4, etc? It’s sounding like no, but curious if outside consulting it would be perceived any better. In B4 everyone wants a big sector leader role, so I thought this could be a good stepping stone, but maybe it’s just suicide.
